A New Year and New Adventures in Cooking....



Instead of ringing in the New Year at a crowded bar or restaurant, I decided to save some cash and make a fabulous feast for loved ones at my apartment. I really wanted to finish 2010 with a culinary bang and decided to try something new and go outside of my usual cooking comfort zone.

I absolutely love Indian cuisine but have never really attempted any Indian inspired dishes in my own kitchen. I armed myself with curry and cumin and purused my cookbooks for recipes that tempted my palate.

I was dying to find a recipe where I could try out the new immersion blender I got for Christmas. The results were smooth and delicious!


Quick Curry Chicken with Basmati Rice




Dessert was a scoop of my favorite ice cream, Vanilla Cinnamon Honey, from a local dairy Broom's Bloom. The subtle honey and cinnamon make this standard vanilla spectacular (I could probably eat this every day of the year).
